BeatBuddy

Cutting to music means finding the beats — and tapping the marker key a hundred times per song gets old fast. BeatBuddy listens to your track, detects every beat and drops color-coded markers straight onto your Premiere timeline. You just cut.

Free · macOS & Windows · Premiere Pro 25+ · UXP

What it does

  • Automatic beat detection powered by Essentia — the same audio analysis used in music research.
  • Markers on your timeline, exactly on the beat. No more eyeballing waveforms.
  • Four marker colors to tell downbeats, sections and accents apart at a glance.
  • Runs locally — your audio never leaves your machine.
  • Native UXP panel for Premiere Pro 25 and newer, Mac and Windows.
  • Free. No catch, no watermark, no trial timer.
